The City of Onkaparinga, GDstudia, and GREENHILL worked with the local community, the State Government of South Australia, and the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation (RRSF) to transform Morton Road Reserve, Christie Downs into a sports, recreation, and active community hub which is now known as Niipu-niipu Wama / Morton Park.

The design team created a benchmark process to deliver high-quality recreational facilities to a low socio-economic community to promote social inclusivity and ownership. Niipu-niipu Wama / Morton Park is an active, family-friendly destination featuring a skate park, multi-use tennis/netball courts, junior and youth play spaces, seating, shelters, barbecue facilities, half-court basketball, irrigated lawn areas, and new amenities.
