GDstudia worked with City of Unley to design and document the much-loved play space and reserve in Katherine Street in Fullarton.

The reserve’s focus is a central junior playspace that combines proprietary play items with nature play-based elements and interpretive signage. The play space includes a slide mound, a variety of swings, 3 large in-ground trampolines, a carousel, and a sandpit with hidden ‘fossils’ underneath. Timber jumping logs, colourful posts, and signs were positioned in key locations to encourage play throughout the entire reserve. A naturalistic swale was designed to complement the nature play theme it also had the practical purpose of inundating and filtering stormwater from the street.
